Yorkshire 395 all out (124.4 overs) v Lancashire 0-1 (3 overs)

Luke Sutton could be forgiven for accepting the applause a little sheepishly
after his seventh catch of the innings set a new wicketkeeping record for
Roses matches here this morning.

Sutton’s feat, which also equals the Lancashire record for all first-class
matches, denied Yorkshire a batting bonus point as Oliver Newby found the
edge of 19-year-old Ben Sanderson’s bat. But given that the home side had
already pocketed four, it was something of a hollow victory.

Lunch Report: Yorkshire 90-2 (28 overs) v Lancashire

Having dismissed Lancashire for 89 in the rain-ruined Friends Provident Trophy
match here on Wednesday, Yorkshire might have been tempted, on a damp, misty
morning, to have another bowl in spite of their long injury list, had they
won the toss.

Lunch Report: Surrey 98-2 (31 overs) v Somerset

This season for Mark Ramprakash is turning rapidly into his own Groundhog Day.
The Surrey batsman has now failed with five attempts to nail down the
hundredth hundred of his first class career.

Lunch Report: Surrey 466-8 (119.4 overs); Yorkshire 26-1 (5 overs)

Mark Butcher duly reached the third double hundred of his career this morning
as Surrey piled up a mammoth score against Yorkshire here.

Lunch Report: Surrey 108-1 (32 overs) v Yorkshire

Another Surrey match and another chance – his third of the season – for Mark
Ramprakash to score the hundredth hundred of his first class career.

Lunch Report: Nottinghamshire 161-4 (50 overs) v Sussex 277

It has just about been Nottinghamshire’s morning here, although the loss of
Mark Wagh 10 minutes before lunch gave Sussex some encouragement going into
the afternoon session.

Lunch Report: Nottinghamshire v Sussex 75-6 (29 overs)

Nottinghamshire are cautious about talking up their title chances so early in
the season but if Darren Pattinson continues to wreak havoc with the new
ball they will inevitably find themselves labelled as contenders.
