From somewhere – actually from nowhere – England made it more or less their
morning. Two late wickets by Ryan Sidebottom gave England an advantage that
they did not perhaps deserve after their early insipid efforts.
Surrey finally got their man but not before Jacques Rudolph had reached three
figures, which he did off the third ball of the day with a single. It was
his second hundred against Surrey, the first coming in the opening
Championship match of last year.
Sussex completed their first Championship win of the season in an hour and 35
minutes this morning as Nottinghamshire, chasing 286 to win, were bowled out
for 212.
